About the Competition
The Youth in Agroecology Startup Competition is an initiative led by ESFSAC Ethiopia, in partnership with AFSA, under the “My Food is African / My Food is Ethiopian” Campaign. The aim is spotlight the creativity and ambition of young entrepreneurs building the future of food. We’re looking for fresh, impact-driven startups that align with agroecological values — sustainability, resilience, fairness, and community-based food solutions.
This year, we’re focusing on empowering youth in Addis Ababa. To be eligible, all entries must be submitted within the following application window.

Closes: August 1, 2025
How to Enter
All you need to do is:
- Fill out and register for the competition using an online form.
- Record a 1-minute video explaining your startup via Telegram.
Both the online registration form and the Telegram Bot to submit your videos will be availabe available on the competition page (Youth in Agroecology Startup Competition) during the application period.
Recognition & Awards
All shortlisted participants will receive recognition, visibility, and networking opportunities. Finalists will be invited to a public recognition event where top-three startups will be celebrated and awarded.
